Photo Sadza: The Mists of Nyanga, Zimbabwe

These are photos from a road trip I took in with Steven Brownstone in March 2018. The country had just deposed Robert Mugabe, and there was a lot of hope for change in the air. Bond notes still traded at 1.2:1 to the USD. We drove from Lusaka to the Nyanga Mountains via Chirundu and Harare. We had 5 days off because Thursday and Monday were holidays, and Zambian President Edgar Lungu declared Friday an impromptu holiday to give everyone the epic long weekend.

Rural area near Rusape. We met a smallholder farmer here who had run a factory in Harare prior to the 2007/8 collapse.
