A little win in Dakar

During a Sunday full of running around looking for things to furnish the apartment, tired of spending money on taxis and looking for a little adventure, Mallika and I decided to hop on a bus going in the general direction we were headed.

In a world full of bus drivers who are hilarious in one way or another, our driver stood out as some kind of cross between a school principal and a rock star. He physically re-positioned passengers to fit more people on the bus; rubbed babies on the head; and stopped the bus for a minute in the middle of a busy road to flirt with a passenger.

The cramped, hot ride of course turned out to be a great time and another one of those pieces of the puzzle that makes a place home.
